Invest in Akode so they can reach Self-Reliance!

We are so excited to be partnering with The Hunger Project supporting the village of Akode to Self-Reliance!

At Intelligen, we are driven by a profound belief in the power of purpose and the global empowerment of individuals. Our journey with The Hunger Project began in March 2017 when our founder and CEO joined a group of 20 entrepreneurs from across Australia to witness firsthand the impactful work in Malawi, the "Warm Heart" of Africa.

This transformative experience in Malawi not only shifted our paradigms but also ignited a deep inspiration within us. Witnessing the vision, tenacity, grit, and unwavering spirit of individuals empowered by The Hunger Project to overcome hunger was truly life-altering. Fueled by this experience, our commitment to making a meaningful impact grew stronger. We aspired to directly empower the remarkable individuals we had connected with during our visit.

The result was the birth of a visionary goal—to lead the Nchalo Community, comprising over 37,000 people, toward sustainability by 2020. Despite the challenges posed by the global pandemic, our collective efforts, dedication, and commitment to the cause proved triumphant. We not only met our initial goal of contributing 100k but surpassed it, reaching a commendable 120k.

Our commitment to making a positive impact extends beyond financial contributions. The ethos of "Profit for Purpose" is now intricately woven into every aspect of our work. We have embraced the responsibility of supporting a new community on its journey toward self-reliance, solidifying our dedication to global empowerment and sustainable change.

We are now supporting the Akode community in Ghana to reach Self-Reliance and to end hunger and poverty in their community of 5,500 people.

Over the past number of years, in speaking with our company partners and passionately advocating for the work of The Hunger Project we've been approached a number of times for more information on how to get involved. Whether it be a one-off corporate donation, individual or family contribution or an ongoing commitment, we've had conversations across the spectrum and want to make it really easy to empower people to make an impact.

This page thus serves two purposes: first, to track the contribution of our commitment, but also to make it really easy to get involved yourself.

We are so excited to be along on another journey with a community in partnership with The Hunger Project. We can't wait to watch the Akode journey unfold and hear the stories; and hopefully experience first-hand on the ground, the power of the human spirit, tenacity and the impact of a vision and action in practice!

In any case - if you're here on this page, reading this, it means you've partnered with us, are interested in our journey or interested in making an impact - to us - they're all equally as powerful so we thank you for your support in any form it comes!
