Unlock 2019 Malawi

Please help give the poorest a hand up!

800 million people will go hungry today. But the good news is that 50,000 peoole per day are escaping this hunger trap due to their own and efforts of NGO's like The Hunger Project.
 
Jacquie and I are going to Malawi, the 5th poorest country on earth, where 6 in every 10 people are facing daily hunger and are malnourished. The Hunger Project works with poor rural communites by giving them a hand up not a hand out.
 
They see see people living in hunger as the solution, not the problem. They shift the mindsets of women and men so they transform into leaders for the sustainable end of hunger. Then, through our programs such as education, microfinance, agriculture and health, we empower people with the skills, knowledge and resources they need to break the poverty cycle themselves.
 
Over the past 10 years or so they have helped empower and uplift millions out of poverty to self-sustainability through their Vision, Committment - Action programs that are now a proven pathway for the poorest to escape of poverty and hunger.
 
I'll bring you firsthand information of what it's like and how they they are succeeding when i get back.

I'm fundraising for the Unlock Leadership Immersion Program

I am fundraising for The Hunger Project Australia, as part of the Unlock Leadership Immersion program. 

The Hunger Project’s goal is to end world hunger by 2030. Their approach is different – they see people living in hunger as the solution, not the problem. They shift the mindsets of women and men so they transform into leaders for more sustainable futures. Through programs such as education, microfinance, agriculture and health, they empower people with the skills, knowledge and resources they need to break the poverty cycle themselves.

I have committed to raise over $10,000 to empower people across the world to transform their lives and be the solution to the poverty and hunger that they face daily. I hope that you are able to support me in this challenge.

What impact will your donation have?

$50 could fund functional adult literacy training for two women so that they can learn to read and write. 
$60 could provide one woman with a microfinance loan and financial literacy training so she can start a small business, earn an income and support her family. 
$120 could train a local volunteer leader who will educate mothers about the importance of pre-natal care to ensure their babies are delivered safely. 
$230 could train one Elected Woman to be an effective local council member and ban child marriage in her community.
