Join the movement to END World Hunger by 2030.
Myself and 19 other remarkable female leaders have embarked on a journey that will take us to Uttarakhand India to support the work of The Hunger Project as part of the 2019 Business Chicks Leadership Program.
I am a first generation proud Australian of Indian heritage, privileged to grow up in Brisbane with abundance of food, shelter, clean water and electricity. Things we take for granted everyday, hence my passion to give something back to a community dear to my heart and roots that are less fortunate.
What is The Hunger Project?
The Hunger Project Australia works to break the cycle of poverty through programs such as education, microfinance, agriculture and health. Their mission is to end hunger and poverty by pioneering sustainable living standards in third world countries.
The Hunger Project Australia is working with the Elected Women Representatives (EWRs) in India who are empowered with the skills and knowledge required to lead a political agenda, advocate for change and successfully connect their local village council area to government programs that improve health, education, housing and welfare of their community members.
My motivation is my passion to make a difference, to do my bit to ensure that the women of Uttarakhand have the skills and resources to create change within their communities. I feel in western society we take for granted the availability of resource like fresh food and water, we forget there are people in this world who are less fortunate as we are.
By being a part of the Hunger Project I hope to give back but also learn and be inspired by the stories of these incredible women of Uttarakhand.
Be a part of this collective movement.
How you can Help?
I have been set the goal to raise $10,000 by December and I'm very grateful for your support through your donation of any amount to make a difference where every woman, man and child lead a life without hunger. Please note I fund my own trip/experience myself, and none of your donation goes towards this.
To contribute, please click on the donation button on this page
All donations over $2 are tax deductible and will go a long way to empower women to enact change within their own communities to create a brighter future without hunger or poverty.
What do your donations contribute towards: Funds raised will go towards food security, health and education. For example, $50.00 covers the cost of anti-malarial bed nets for five families. This alone reduces the risk particularly for children under the age of 5 of severe illness, disease and death.
