Hi, my name is Sophia and I am on The Hunger Project (THP) Youth Board.
What is the Youth Board you might be wondering...
We are a young group of passionate individuals who regularly volunteer our time to drive awareness and advocate for the amazing work The Hunger Project does internationally.
Ok now I'm sure you want to know a little bit more about The Hunger Project...
THP's mission is to end the cycle of hunger and poverty for people living in rural communities across the world. We see people as the solution not the problem and THP's work focuses on unleashing people's creativity and leadership so they can end their own hunger.
We reach more than 16.1 million people living in India, Bangladesh, Africa, and Latin America. THP has trained 56,000+ people in empowerment workshops in Africa, has decreased the proportion of households below the poverty line by 22%, and increased the proportion of women small-business owners by 34% just to name a few of our achievements.
I'm hoping to raise money for The Hunger Project so we can end hunger together by 2030. A donation of any amount through my fundraising page will be immensely appreciated (hint: a donation of just $30 will train an animator in Bangladesh to stop child marriage in their village)!!
